Unlikely: Perimenopause is usually associated with less frequent and lighter menses along with hot flashes. Heavier bleeding and pain may represent an anatomic problem with the uterus such as fibroids or polyps and less likely more serious concerns. Your gynecologist can evaluate you.

Does your period change as you get older? Why? Mine has gotten heavier over the past few years. It used to be super light. It fills about a third of a diva cup and is dark red at first, brown at end. Tests/ scans to test for abnormalities all clear?
