sometimes my visiom darkens. it seems as if the whole room gets darker and kind of hazy. what could be the cause of this?

Multiple: There could be multiple causes of what you are describing. Some may be very dangerous, even vision threatening but given your age most would not be as concerning. I would suggest a good ophthalmologic evaluation.
