Extraction: This all depends upon why your wisdom tooth hurts. It may be due to an infection of the gum tissue around the erupting tooth. In such a situation, antibiotics are prescribed to treat the infection. If the tooth is impacted, it should be extracted. This will remove the offending tooth and relieve your pain. Consult an oral surgeon to see the proper course of action.
