What can i do to lessen the pain caused from my wisdom tooth?

Pain meds: Take some strong pain medications. See your dentist.

Extraction: This all depends upon why your wisdom tooth hurts. It may be due to an infection of the gum tissue around the erupting tooth. In such a situation, antibiotics are prescribed to treat the infection. If the tooth is impacted, it should be extracted. This will remove the offending tooth and relieve your pain. Wisdom tooth: At 52 if a wisdom tooth is bothering you it may be infected, have caused damage to adjacent teeth and/or surrounding teeth/bone/gums, or it may be something else entirely in that area that's bothering you.
