A member asked:

What surgeons do eye transplant surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

None.: Eye transplants are not yet feasible, even with potent antirejection drugs. The optic nerve connections are not capable of transmitting visual impulses even if the actual procedural steps were performed. Corneal transplants are commonly done as needed for corneal scarring or diseases, and cataract removal and new lens placement is routine, but no eye transplants!
