Best tip: The best tip is to see a dentist/tmj specialist. Some people try the over-the-counter mouthpieces, but i would not trust them. These types of mouthpieces can often create more problems. Also, it is advantageous to try and figure out the source of your bruxism.

Nightguard: Stress reduction is paramount. Besides that, the nightguard is the best way to begin managing the destruction of your bruxism. Many types of nightguards are available. Thermoguard is a comfortable one and so is the hard/soft type. The important thing is that it fits comfortably, it is properly adjusted by your dentist, not just the assistant, and that you wear it. Bring to all appts for adjustment.

Sleep Test: People who wake up often with headaches may suffer from a disorder called obstructive sleep apnea. Bruxism is the indicator for obstructive sleep apnea. See your DP for eval and possible referral to sleep test.
