A member asked:

I've had sore hands and feet since having had fifths disease several months ago, how long will this last?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several months: Fifths disease is a viral infection that is much more common in children than adults. When adults develop this condition, however, it's not unusual to have tender joints (esp. The hands, wrists and ankles) for several months afterward. Treatment for the joint pain focuses on symptomatic relief (acetaminophen or ibuprofen).
