Difficult to know: If your son is a normal healthy child, then these symptoms are likely caused by a viral infection and you can monitor him at home. If, however, he has any underlying chronic disease, you should probably call his doctor and discuss it with him or her.

Call Pediatrician: I would go with some symptomatic approaches including Ibuprofen 50 mg (tablet or suspension) and some soup. Don't wait too long to call the pediatrician.
