A member asked:

What is the downtime for a broken hand that requires surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Depends on exactly what the surgery or bone is. Metacarpal fractures and surgeries seem to heal very quickly -- 4 weeks even. It also depends on what you're planning to do with your hand. Using a computer or driving is relatively quick to get back to doing. Swinging a sledge hammer, of course, will require more time.
