Couple of things: Soak in warm soapy water to soften the nail and skin, trim back the nail and apply antiseptic and bandaid.

I cant stop pulling on my hangnails. i assume its a mental thing but it can get bad. i dont do it on purpose but i do it anyways and some of them have taken forever to heal and i have to wear bandaids pretty much 24/7?
