Possibly: Bleaching of teeth is generally a very safe procedure however in rare situations adverse effects can occur. A specific example of this is invasive cervical resorption. It is suspected that this reaction occurs due to a gap found in 10% of patients between the enamel and dentin called gap junctions. This area may be adversely effected by the bleaching and cause a hole to develop.
