Is there a good reason to buy mouthwash?

Sure...: There are all types of mouthwashes to suit your needs. If you are not a proponent of fluoride, watch for this to be an ingredient. Alcohol is another ingredients which you may not want in your mouthwash. Check out holocuren mouth rinse for a holistic option.

Yes: Some help decrease plaque and bacteria. There is no substitute for brushing. Mom was right!

Gingivitis: If you brush thoroughly 2-3 times per day, floss daily, brush your tongue, visit the dentist every 6 months, and you have good oral health, there really is no reason you need to use mouthwash. You can maintain a healthy mouth and fresh breath without it. Having said that, I do enjoy the antibacterial properties of listerine, and I use it daily. It is very good in helping prevent gingivitis.

No: Proper brushing and flossing take care of bad breath, so mouthwash is only an extra expense.
