Glycemic Control: Studies suggest that green tea is a plant based alternative for glycemic control. Study by maastricht university (holland) noted green tea has catechins ; caffeine w inhibition of o-methyl- transferase ; phosphodiesterase which effects thermogenesis ; fat oxidation. However, for substantial weight loss to occur - many different factors need to be addressed such as exercise ; nutrition.
