Most likely no: Fever, per se, is not a diagnosis. It is merely a sign of some other issue at hand. So, it is difficult to say whether there is no other "dangerous" issue; however, a fever of 101.3° is not very high, nor very unusual for this age. There are many viral syndromes at this stage which will cause a temporary fever. Use your judgment, in consultation as need be with your doctor's to determine cause.

Hard to say: Fever by itself and at that level is not dangerous to anyone. It might be a sign of a worrisome illness, but that can be discovered with an evaluation by a trained individual. Many times it is a simple self healing effort by the body, since it is a natural response and increases blood flow with healing white cells and antibodies to any area of infection.
