Infection: This could be as simple as a viral infection or might be quite serious. Being a diabetic, depending on your glucose levels your risk for infection may be high. Please have it checked by your doctor at the earliest . You may need aggressive interventions including IV hydration or IV medications.

Depends: In older people with other medical problems infections most commonly would cause those symptoms, most commonly UTI and pneumonia, in elders infections might not cause fever, and lots of times the only symptom would be fatigue or weakness or change in mental status. This person needs to see doctor.
