A member asked:

Is it possible to avoid getting keloids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Avoid getting surgery or cuts if you have the tendency, especially in areas known to keloid like the bans areas (back of arms, neck and shoulder). If you do get a cut/incision in these areas notify your doctor and take special care to avoid further trauma/infection and speed healing. Scar reduction techniques like gel sheeting/pressure pads can also help.
