COPD...: COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is usually the result of smoking. It is diagnosed by finding irreversible airway obstruction on pulmonary function testing. Chronic bronchitis and emphysema are types of copd. There are available treatments but there is no cure. Smoking cessation is necessary to slow disease progression by decreasing airway inflammation. See your doctor for diagnosis.
