A member asked:

My right gland in neck is always swollen, gets worse when i have a cold but i can always feel it there. last 2 days stiff neck and more swollen, normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Slight infection: The glands in your neck are lymphatic glands. Lymphatics basically take the fluid between the cells and send them to glands with white blood cells. If the white blood cells find an infection (virus, bacteria) they multiple and your gland gets bigger. So during a cold the glands can get bigger. This is normal. If you are concerned you could go to your doctor and he/she can check by feeling them
