See below: If you mean diabetes insipidus, then yes. The usual diabetes that we all talk about is diabetes mellitus - that is different - that has to do with sugar & insulin. Diabetes insipidus deals with water balance in the body. Anti-diuretic hormone is made in the posterior pituitary gland in the brain & helps manage this water balance. Depending on the type & location of brain injury, di can develop.
