Possibly: Chronic dehydration can affect cartilage, but it would have to be moderately severe, and for a few months. That could result in a tear.

Chronic dehydration: Whatever that actually means..If you were "chroncially dehydrated" id worry more about just your tfcc. Youd have cramps, siezures, strokes and cardiac problems. If you dont drink fluid you joints dont dry out. Your body has a very detailed system inplace to conserve water. However if you do have degenerative joint disease one feature is that the cartilage has less moisture. But its not direct.
