Diet Change Needed: Pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) is influenced by Insulin resistance. Most pcos patients have high Insulin levels. A very large number of my pcos patients have significant improvement following a low carbohydrate diet. This decreases their Insulin levels and corrects the testosterone and estrogen abdnormalites associated with pcos. Medications may be needed if dietary changes fail.

No PCO Cure: We do not have a cure for pcos but we do have treatments that help with fertility and health. Before needing pregnancy, bcp, diet, weight loss and exercise all help with symptoms. When ready for pg then if cycles irregular, we use medication to cause ovulation. Even ivf very effective if needed. Some women with pcos do not need treatment too. See your physician for guidance. Best wishes.
