I have been diagnosed with venous stasis. are there natural treatments available?

Not Really: You can buy anything on the internet. Various herbal remedies are out there, but they don't work. They will not fix damaged skin from poorly functioning vein valves. Medical treatments don't always mean surgery. I recommend you look up and find a vascular surgeon.

Venous stasis: Venous stasis and the underlying cause of venous hypertension can be treated with compression. You should seek help from a clinician that is familiar with determining the correct compression for you. A wound care center and vascular surgeon that specializes in veins can help you. There are many choices for compression and it can take some time before the right level and comfort are attained.

What is natural?: All medical treatments are natural. We do not prey to a supernatural being to cure our patients, all drugs are natural. Given that you do not need drugs, compression therapy and unna boots (calamine lotion soaked gauze) works best. Apply then apply coban wrap for compression.

Not really: The cause of the venous stasis has to be identified before the treatment can be outlined. If the cause is superficial saphenous insufficiency then the saphenous vein can be ablated. If the cause is deep venous reflux from prior DVT then the treatment is much more complex. A vascular surgeon who specializes in this type of complex problem should be consulted.

Not that work: Venous stasis is a condition of skin changes which is due to an abnormality in venous return caused by valve problems that allow blood from deep high-pressure veins to enter the low-pressure veins just under the skin. These veins become enlarged, letting fluid go through their walls creating swelling, letting blood go through their walls creating discoloration and finally having so much back pressure that nutritious arterial blood cannot enter an area of the skin. This results in ulcers. It is treated by removing the areas of abnormal flow using laser ablation.

Venous stasis: The best is to get evaluated venous Doppler sonogram to determine if the veins are causing the issue Use of support or compression stocking is very important to prevent worsening of the problem
