Need evaluation: You can get the best help if you see your own psychiatrist, who can listen carefully to your concerns & do a good evaluation of them. Once the diagnosis is clearer, a reasonable treatment plan can be developed for you. Please don't wait and wonder. For bipolar info: http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/pubmedhealth/pmh0001924/ good luck.

Psych Evaluation: First make an appointment with your regular doctor to rule out any underlying medical condition that could produce the symptoms your are suffering from. Once medically clear, your depression, anxiety, possible bipolar & adhd symptoms could then be evaluated and treated by a psychiatrist. Please refrain to diagnose yourself, it can only bring you more anxiety than any relief.

Bipolar disorder: Is characterized by manic episodes. While there are several symptoms that characterize manic episode, decreased need for sleep and increased activities are the most common. If you are already seeing a doctor for depression, anxiety, and adhd, you may want to ask your doctor about bipolar disorder. He/she will be able to explain whether or not your symptoms fit the bipolar diagnostic criteria.
