Too Early to Know: While this is always disheartening, it is still a little too early to assume you won't improve.Often, pt's w/gb disease have right-upper abd pain which can feel similar to the incisional pain in the same location. If the pain persists, your surgeon may check labs since a stone in the bile duct can feel just like a gb attack. Bottom line: if you're no better in 1-2 wks, go back to your surgeon.

Call your doc: Lots of possibilities including the pain before the surgery was not helped by the surgery, i.e. Different cause than gallbladder, e.g. Ulcer, can have retained stone, adhesions (internal scars from surgery), other. Call your doc, need to get seen.
