Widespread: Throughout north and south america. Highest incidence right now in north carolina, oklahoma, arkansas, tennessee, and missouri. Half of people don't recall tick bite. In the usa about 3000 cases a year and slightly rising. Quite treatable when recognized. The problem? 1/3 of people do not have the characteristic rash. Peaks in june/july; fever, chills, headache, and muscle aches.
