Depends: If treated with proper antibiotics in first 5 days of infection, prognosis is excellent for most. Delayed treatment severely increases risk of badness due to the damage to your small blood vessels. It is the most serious tick-borne illness the the USA. Oklahoma (no Rockies !) has the highest rates. Use DEET!!!
