Not uncommon: Many of us get a viral or mycoplasmal infection about once a year. Depends upon whether you are frequently in close contact and thereby exposed to large numbers of persons with such infections, resulting in your getting them.. Your doctor is often exposed by seeing lots of patients with these illnesses.
