Yes: Post surgical infections can be deadly. They can also be due to a number of things besides infection at the surgical site, such as urinary tract infection from catheterization during surgery, pulmonary problems caused by failing to breathe deeply secondary to post surgical discomfort. Return to the hospital immediately for assessment.
