Pregnant: Theoretically you have as many chances to conceive as you have periods: if you have 28 day cycles, you have 12 chances per year, 8 cycles would give 8 chances, etc...In reality of course, you can only have one term pregnancy in a year.

Depends on question: I agree that you have about 12 ovulations per year and thus 12 opportunities to become pregnant. But, if you are asking how many pregnancies you can have in a year then 1 full term and perhaps a miscarriage every 2-4 months ( let's hope that does not happen). In other words, it takes about 2-4 months to complete a miscarriage. Hope this answers all the possible meanings of the question.

Trick question?: Technically you could be pregnant 12 times per year if cycles were absolutely regular, pregnancy occurred every cycle and pregnancy were terminated in time to allow another cycle. Realistically if pregnancy is carried to term and cycles were to resume immediately afterwards you could be pregnant 4 times in 3 years. 1.3 times per year!
