Unlikely: Damage to a vertebral disc can occur gradually, such as wear and tear or suddenly as an acute injury. Since trauma is the main vehicle, generic sleep patterns would be unlikely to cause damage. Of course, if you have violent dreams, and fall out of bed, there could be a night-time reason.
