Will booze in any way affect the healing process?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, it can: Alcohol impairs healing in many ways. Fibroblasts are cells that lay down scar, and alcohol makes them work improperly. Also, those who drink too much alcohol have more chances of infection, which affects healing. In addition, since many heavier drinkers are also smokers, smoking decreases blood flow and greatly increases healing time, and the chances that wounds (and bone) will not heal.
