Rhinoplasty: Rhinoplasty is a great way to reshape the nose and bring it into better harmony with the rest of the face. Genioplasty does the same for the chin, and may involve bony surgery or an implant. These procedures are often complimentary. A physician trained and experienced in facial plastic surgery can discuss your particular needs and goals.

Nose vs. Chin: Rhinoplasty is surgery of the nose, while genioplasty is surgery of the chin. For example, a person thinking of rhinoplasty for a large nose may also have a small chin. Chin augmentation will not only improve the chin size, it will balance the face and make the nose appear relatively smaller. Rhinoplasty and chin implants are commonly performed at same time.

BEWARE OF IMPLANTS: The nose and chin are intimately relate, any well versed plastic surgeon will at least consider the chin when performing rhinoplasty. Be very careful of practitioners that offer or push chin implants. Chin implants offer an easy and lucrative "add on" to a rhinoplasty and are almost always a mistake. They simply cannot create the results of a true genioplasty and are plagued w complications!
