What is a sliding genioplasty done for?

Pros and cons: A sliding genioplasty and chin implants can accomplish the same end result of improving the profile of a deficient chin area. The genioplasty is more invasive and involves a permanent restructuring of the anatomy of the lower jaw. Chin implants are less invasive and may be easier to achieve the desired end contours needed. Consulting a surgeon re: pros and cons of each is recommended.

Genioplasty: Aesthetically pleasant, permanent, natural results, more versatile than chin implant in terms of options.
