Cost/good sense : Wellness programs are driven by cost as well as outcome. In a system where companies provide medical insurance as benefit, their costs/person declines when the yearly consumption of medical services declines. That occurs when less visits/procedures are recorded. Wellness programs also avoid stigmatizing persons with the worst habits/problems by making all employees part of the plan. It works.
