Maybe a fungus: You may have a type of fungus (ring worm) called tinea versicolor. I would have this checked by your dermatologist.

Many possibilities: This could be anything from a contact dermatitis to infection to a systemic reaction to some underlying condition or a primary skin problem. Suggest you see either a primary care physician (internist or family doctor) or a dermatologist.
