Is it safe for me to clean my ears using cotton buds?

No : Despite the fact that millions of people use cotton buds to clean their ears it is not safe if you go anywhere beyond the very outer ear. If you stick the bud in the outer portion of the ear or in the canal you run the risk of pushing wax in, causing damage to the skin and leading to all sorts of problems. I advise my patients to leave their ears alone.
