Best=works for you: There is no best treatment out there. Best treatment=one that works for you without causing significant side effects and must be affordable. No matter how expensive/good the med is, if you can't take/afford, it does not do u any good. Start with cholesterol-lowering diet/exercise (americanheart.Org has good info). There are many meds available, so consult doc for best option for you. Good luck.

WOW!: Those trigs are dangerously high- i worry about panceatitis! need to avoid all alcohol, low fat diet, 3 omega fish oil (krill is good) 4000 mg a day in divided doses, Niacin (rx Niaspan (niacin) is best) 1000 mg bedtime and you will probably need a fibrate like fenofric acid.I would also add a bile acid sequestrant like Questran 1-2 packets or scoops per day.This demands close follow-up.
