A member asked:

Is hpv a cancer or an std and when you get the vaccine are they injecting you with cancer?

STD, no : Hpv is human papilloma virus is a sexually transmitted disease, one of the most common types. It's a virus which means you cannot get rid of it but your body can suppress it by developing antibodies. Which is what the vaccine does- helps you produce antibodies to the most common strains that cause genital warts and cervical cancer. Hpv causes abnormal cells which could lead to cancer.
