How does a breech presentation affect labor and delivery?

C-section: Unless you have twins, a breech baby will need to be delivered by c-section. You can try to turn the baby to see if you can change the position to vertex which would enable you to have a vaginal delivery. If however the baby remains breech then the safest way to have the baby is by c-section.

C section or Version: Breech babies are now delivered by c section. A few years ago a study was done which showed C-section was much safer than vaginal delivery of breech babies. Some patients are candidates for an external version. The doctor manually turns the baby around to the head down position.

Cesarean section: In this country, most breech presentations are delivered by cesarean section. The risks to the baby during a vaginal delivery are too high and most physcians, myself included, are no longer have the skills for a vaginal breech delivery.
