ASAP: As soon as possible. Pressure sores begin as a red spot and continue to advance into a deeper and deeper wound until unless aggressive treatment instituted. Please be quick.

Depends...: Treatment depends upon the depth, degree of contamination and condition of the patient. It can involve debridement (surgical cleaning, ) wound care and definitive surgery at times.

RX pressure ulcer: At any stage, a treatment plan is needed. But direct observation of the wound is absolutely necessary to answer this question. Minimize the pressure, debride the devitalized tissue from the wound, use clean products in or on the wound, and careful followup by wound care professionals either in a wound center or by home health nursing is vital.
