Nasal Staph: Approximately 25 to 30 percent of people have staphylococci bacteria, commonly known as staph, in the nose already, and this usually doesn't cause problems in an otherwise healthy immune system. But in the case of a nasal infection or sinusitis, it produces tremendous discomfort and possible complications that may require medical attention.

Varies: This depends on the population examined. It is much higher (up to 70%) in individuals involved in health care, including nursing home personnel. Much less (15-20%) in the general population who have not been in the hospital as patients or exposed to friends and relatives who have recently been hospitalized.
