Rasmussen Encephalit: An inflammatory neurological disease, with frequent seizures, loss of motor skills and speech, paralysis on one side of the body, brain inflammation with dementia affects a single side of the brain, generally occurs in children under the age of 15. Treatment has been non-specific with steroids, IV immunoglobulin, tacrolimus and plasmaphoresis, supplemented by anticonvulsants and surgery.
