See ENT: For small nose bleeds, gently blow your nose and then pinch your nose , low, just behind the nasal tip for 10 minutes. If you've had recurrent bleeds go see an ENT and have the area cauterized. If it's mild I use silver nitrate. If there is a large vessel i numb it with an injection and use an electrical cautery. Not an awful procedure, and it beats going to the er in the middle of the night.
