Bump Behind Ear: The most common cause of a bump behind the ear is a cyst that must be surgically excised. Other causes include:recurrent scalp infections, thyroid (hyperthyroidism), lymphoma or tumor of lymph node, dermatitis, hodgkin's disease (cancer of lymph tissue), cat allergies and others.
