Toe pain: Toe pain can come from varied sources; if you banged your foot, you may see a dark, blue area between the toes. The area can get swollen and is painful. Another possibility is that there can be dried blood between your toes creating your dark color. If there is a fissure or crack between the toes, there can also be a fungal infection present. Nonetheless, you need to see a podiatrist.

Likely a corn...: Could be a corn that is inflamed. It also can become infected, so worth a visit to your podiatrist. I don't recommend the over the counter corn removers. They contain acid and can cause damage.
