Otitis externa or: External ear infection can be quite painful. You need to see a doc, preferably, an ent, as soon as possible.

Otitis externa: If your external ear canal is completely occluded with inflammation, it may be impossible for the medicine (dexamethasone, neomycin, vinegar) to get to the infected tissues. A physician may have to put a "wick" in the ear canal to allow the medicine to get to the inflamed tissues. Once you have that done, it may feel remarkably better.
