If involving axilla : The removal of accessory tissue if on the chest wall or abdomen tends to have few side effects. However more extensive cases involving the axilla may require resection of a portion of the lymphatic tissue which could lead to increased rates of lymphocoele, seroma, or lymphedema. However in most instances it is a very safe procedure.
