Real Rx: This is the 21st century and all acne is manageable using today's science, usually cheaply. I start with benzoyl peroxide if you can stand it plus topical clindamycin, plus retinoic acid if you have blackheads. More serious acne responds nicely to a systemic antibiotic that's right for you, or the oral contraceptive pill will relieve it if appropriate; dermatologists have the big guns.

Scientific Rx: If topical benzoyl peroxide 5% 2x/day has not cleared you in two weeks, get with your personal physician for prescription-strength rx. No home remedy will be so effective. Acne is a serious, chronic disease that must be managed until it self-cures, or you will have a serious personal and professional liability. Work at it until it's under control.
