Depends on test: There is a urine test that looks for one (or both) of 2 substances - ethylglucuronide (etg) & ethyl sulfine (ets). These may stay positive for up to 3 days, depending on how much you drink. If it is a breath or blood test, it only measures what you were drinking in the last few hours. Safe limits of drinking are no more than 14/week in men, 7/week in women and elderly, and < 4 at 1 time.
