Inflammation: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory condition that affects not only joints but many other tissues including bursae, tendons, etc. Non-joint structures such as the lung, the blood vessels, etc. may also become inflamed. The key is early and effective control of the inflammation of RA.
