I just took a 2 mg xanax (alprazolam) bar last night because i literally felt like ripping my hair out or doing something to someone else or myself and i feel good?

Great!: In general we try not to give pts more than 2 mg /day and tell them to avoid taking it regularly to avoid tolerance and addiction it is a good bandaid but not a long term solution.

Xanax (alprazolam) has high risk : Although it may help in the short term, xanax (alprazolam) has a high risk of dependence, with regular use tolerance can develop. A good evaluation is indicated.
